Removing and Replacing the Faceplate

Important Note:
We highly recommend you review the following precautions before you set up and operate your Nintendo system:

Important: To protect the LCD Display Screen, always keep a faceplate attached to the Game Boy micro.

  • Removing the Faceplate:

Insert the Faceplate Ejector tool into the ejector holes on the left side of the Game Boy micro and remove the faceplate. The Game Boy micro Ejector Tool was included with original shipments of the Game Boy micro. If you no longer have a Faceplate Ejector tool, or your system didn't come with one, you can use the end of a paperclip. Avoid using anything that may break and leave debris lodged in the micro.

Using the Faceplate Ejector Tool   Using a paper-clip (straighten one end and insert into one hole, then the next)

  • Replacing the Faceplate:

Insert the tabs on the right end of the faceplate into the slots on the inside of the Game Boy micro and snap the left end of the faceplate into place (see below).
