Some of the best known Marvel superheroes face off against a crew of all-new adversaries in EA's gorgeous beat-'em-up. With more than a dozen fighters slugging it out in fully destructible environments, including favourites like Spider-Man, Wolverine and Iron Man, comic book devotees are going to go nuts for this one. With rage-powered attacks, dodges and parries that take advantage of each character's super power, and some spectacular special moves, you've never seen fighting action like this. Along with the Marvel guys, you'll also be able to get to grips with the all-new Imperfect characters, who aren't exactly slouches when it comes to special moves and super powers. There's good news for fans of random, senseless carnage too - Spider-Man's vicious arch-nemesis Venom will be taking part in the fun and frolics.
Many of the backdrops are taken from famous Marvel environments, such as the offices of The Daily Bugle or the sumptuous surroundings of the Avengers Mansion. As for the heroes themselves, these are some of the most detailed, beautifully animated characters you'll have seen in a videogame, although with such frenetic action you won't have much time to admire the view. As well as the devastating one-on-one battles, each character has their own plot which unfolds as you play through the Story mode; in between the major face-offs, you'll find yourself taking on multiple enemies. And with vast battle areas and the ability to use whatever item comes to hand as a weapon, Marvel Nemesis is an exercise in unadulterated mayhem. Imperfect? Not likely...
