Licensed Products and Merchandise

All licensed gaming accessories and peripherals display "Official Nintendo Licensed Product Seal" (picture below) worldwide. This symbol is your assurance that the product has been evaluated and licensed by Nintendo for use with its systems. Licensed merchandise - such as apparel, toys and bedding will also display this symbol.

The current Official Nintendo Licensed Product Seal is shown as a gold starburst reading Official Nintendo Licensed Product

The official seal is your assurance that this product is licensed by Nintendo. Always look for this seal when buying video game systems, accessories, and related products.

Previous versions of the Official Seal
Previous versions of the Official Seal are shown as a glossy starburst logo and a black starburst logo

Prior to 2012, these seals could be found on the packaging of licensed products sold in North America.

Unlicensed Products

If a product does not carry one of the seals listed above, it is likely not licensed by Nintendo. Unlicensed products and accessories do not undergo Nintendo's testing and evaluation process. They may not work at all with our game systems, and they may have compatibility problems with certain games or accessories.
