Default settings for specific Wireless Routers

Note: Most connection issues are related to knowing the name of your network (SSID) and WEP key which help your Nintendo DS communicate with the router. The router specific information provided with this tool should help.

Need advice on finding a compatible Wireless Router?

Most wireless routers are compatible with the Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, and Nintendo DSi. Before purchasing a wireless router, make sure of the following:

• 802.11b - Most routers are backwards compatible with the 802.11b standard. Routers that broadcast exclusively on 802.11g or 802.11n may not be compatible with the Nintendo DS.
• Security -

  WEP - If you wish to secure your wireless network, the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite are only compatible with WEP (Wired Encryption Protocol).

  WPA - The Nintendo DSi is compatible with both WEP and WPA security. Please note that the original Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite are not compatible with WPA.

• Known Compatibility Issues - Most wireless routers are compatible with the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite. However, our experience has shown the following devices to be incompatible:
