What Are The Requirements for Netflix Instant Streaming on the Wii?
Answer:
To view Netflix Watch Instantly content on your TV via your Wii console, you need an active Netflix account that allows the viewing of unlimited online content, a high-speed Internet connection (recommended 3.0 Mbps or higher for DVD quality), and a TV. We recommend connecting the Wii console to a router as well.

No. The Wii console can display resolutions up to 480P.

Connect your Wii console to the Internet
A broadband Internet connection and access point are required (more info). Follow the steps below to get connected.
- From the Wii main menu, use the Wii Remote to select the "Wii" button.
- Now, select "Wii Settings" to access the "Wii System Settings" menu.
- Using the arrow on the right side of the screen, scroll to page two and select "Internet."
- Select "Connection Settings."
- Select "Connection 1: None"
(Don't see "None" in Connection 1? Click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings.")
- Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point."
- Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds.
- Select the wireless network that is yours.
- Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."
- The Wii console will run a connection test with your wireless network. When the test is completed, you should see the following screen:
As long as you see "The connection test was successful," the "Wii Support Code" does not matter and can be ignored.
- The connection test was successful - Then you're almost done! After your connection test, the Wii console will check if there is a new Wii System Update available. Once you select "Yes" and "I Accept," the Wii will begin to download any available updates.
- The connection test was not successful - If the test was not successful, you will receive an error code.
- Error Code 51330: This means the security code you entered into the Wii is not the same one your router is set to. Look in your router's settings and try again.
- All other error codes: Try our Error Code look up tool where we have detailed information on many common error codes. (You can ignore any "Wii Support Code" you receive on a connection test.)
- Once the Wii finishes downloading any updates, you will return to the main Wii menu screen. You will now need to download Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii from the Wii Shop Channel, then connect your Wii console to your Netflix account. Please see the step-by-step information below to finish the process and start watching Netflix content on your Wii.

How to Download Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii From the Wii Shop Channel
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to download Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii from the Wii Shop Channel.
What to do:
- Select the Wii Shop Channel on the Wii Menu and select "Start."
- If you have not previously accessed the Wii Shop Channel, you will need to read and agree to the User Agreement. (How To)
- A screen will appear asking you if you want to link a Club Nintendo account to your Wii Shop account.
- If you have a Club Nintendo Membership, enter your User Name and Password, then select "Link."
- If you do not have a Club Nintendo Membership, leave the fields blank and select "Skip."
- Select "Start Shopping" to continue to the Wii Shop Channel main menu.
- Select "Wii Channels" from the Wii Shop Channel main menu, then select "Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii." Select "Free 0 Wii Points."
- Select either the "Wii System Memory" or an "SD Card" as the download location.
- Select "OK," then "Yes" to download the channel.
- A screen will appear with Mario running across the screen and three blocks. Mario will hit the blocks as the download progresses.
- Once Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii has finished downloading, it will appear on the Wii menu.

Connect to your Netflix account
- After downloading Netflix Instant Streaming for Wii, return to the Wii Menu.
- Select Netflix Instant Streaming, then select "Start."
- When asked if you are already a Netflix member, select "Yes" to reach the Member Sign In screen.
- If you are not already a member, select "No" and fill out the required fields on the screen to begin a free one month trial.
- On the Member Sign In screen, click "Email."
- Using the onscreen keyboard, enter the email address that you have associated to your Netflix account. (This is the same email address you would use to sign into Netflix.com.)
- Once the email address is correctly typed, select "Enter", then select the "Password" area, and use the Wii Remote to enter your Netflix account password. Select "Enter" when finished.
- When your email and password have been entered, select the "Continue" button.
- Once you have successfully signed in, you can watch TV episodes and movies streaming from Netflix on your Wii console.

How to Set Up Parental Controls to Restrict Netflix Access
Description:
Step by step information on how to configure the Wii Parental Controls to restrict access to Netflix.

Important Note!
- Because the Wii's parental controls are designed around video game ratings and not film ratings, it's not possible to block based on film rating. For more information on Ratings-Based Restrictions, click here.
What to Do:
- Select the Wii button from the Wii Menu, select "Wii Settings," then select the right arrow to reach page 2.
- Select "Parental Controls," then "Yes" to change parental controls. When prompted, enter the PIN and select "OK."
- Select "Other Settings," then "OK" to adjust the Parental Controls settings.
- To block the use of the Netflix service, Select "Next" until the "Use of the Internet Channel and viewing of certain content which is not subject to game rating" option appears. Select "Restrict."
- Once all settings are complete, select "Confirm," then "Settings Complete" to accept the settings selected and restrict Netflix.

Error Message: Your Internet Connection Has Slowed. We Are Adjusting Playback to Avoid Further Interruption
Situation:
- The error message, "Your Internet connection has slowed. We are adjusting playback to avoid further interruption" appears while watching a video on the Netflix Instant Streaming Channel.
- While watching videos on the Wii console, the content appears blurry or fuzzy.
- Streaming content is blocky or lags during playback.
What To Do:
- Ensure that no other users or applications are utilizing bandwidth on your network (e.g. other electronics streaming content, performing downloads, etc).
- Netflix recommends a connection speed of at least 1.0 Mbps. Using one of the following websites, you can check your current bandwidth:

If you are receiving less bandwidth than recommended, please contact your Internet Service Provider.

Situation:
- A blank screen when attempting to start the Netflix Instant Streaming Channel.
- The Netflix Instant Streaming Channel stops loading at a certain percentage and becomes unresponsive.
What to do:
- If the Wii is unresponsive, hold the power button on the front of the console until the power light turns red.
- Delete the Netflix Save Data from the Wii. (How To)
