Game Boy Rechargeable Battery Pack Troubleshooting

The Rechargeable Battery Pack was a dual-purpose power supply for the original Game Boy only. It provided both a rechargeable battery pack as well as functionality as an AC adapter. This product is no longer available.

Troubleshooting Steps:
  1. Make sure the rechargable battery pack has been charged for eight hours.
  2. Make sure the power cable plugs into the left side of the Game Boy, not the bottom.
  3. Try the rechargeable battery pack as an AC Adapter. Plug it into the wall for one minute with the Game Boy off, then turn the Game Boy on.
  4. Remove the batteries from the Game Boy when using the rechargeable battery pack.

If your system continues to experience power problems, we suggest you purchase a refurbished product, or the newer Game Boy Advance, or Game Boy Advance SP, from your local or online retailer. Due to the age of the system and the lack of availability of parts, we are no longer able to repair the original Game Boy or the Rechargeable Battery Pack.
