Instructions for adjusting TV settings on the Nintendo Switch console, including audio and video settings.

Nintendo Switch Lite does not support TV mode.

    Complete These Steps:

    1. From the HOME Menu, select “System Settings”.
    2. Scroll down the menu on the left-hand side of the screen and select “TV Output”.

      The following options are available:

      • TV Resolution. This can be set to:
        • Automatic
        • 480p
        • 720p
        • 1080p
      • RGB Range. This can be set to:
        • Automatic
        • Full range
        • Limited range

For information on the colour display settings that are supported by your TV or monitor, consult its user manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance.

      • Adjust Screen Size. Dock the console and follow the on-screen prompts to manually adjust the screen size.
      • Screen Burn-in Reduction. Enable this option to reduce the screen brightness after five minutes of inactivity.
      • Match TV Power State. When connected to the TV, turning on the console or exiting sleep mode will turn on the TV. Turning off the TV will put the console in sleep mode.
        • HDMI settings must also be enabled on your TV. Some TV models may be unable to use this feature.

This option is available only after performing a system update.

        • Surround

Important: When TV Sound is set to Surround, a message will be displayed to indicate that the appropriate equipment is necessary to fully support surround sound.
