Racers at the ready! Eight remastered courses have been added to the Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe game. Starting today, you’ll be able to challenge the Golden Dash Cup and Lucky Cat Cup.

This newly added content makes up Wave 1 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC*. If you already have the DLC pass, it’s totally fine if you want to stop reading this article and get to playing (seriously, we get it). But if you need a little more info, let’s help you out!

What is the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass?

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass is your ticket to adding 48 remastered tracks to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (which will actually double the course number when all the content is out). These courses will be released in six waves until the end of 2023 and each wave has eight courses. You can also race online** with them too!

Today sees the release of Wave 1.

How do I get the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass?

There are two ways to get access.

1) Folks who have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership will have access to all of these newly added courses* as they are released. There is no additional cost on top of the membership price. Members also get access to a selection of Nintendo 64™ and SEGA Genesis games, access to theAnimal Crossing™: New Horizons - Happy Home Paradise DLC*, and all the original benefits of a Nintendo Switch Online membership (online play, access to Super NES ™ and NES™ games, access to the Save Data Cloud, exclusive games, and more).

2) Non-members can access the courses as they are released by purchasing the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass on its own from Nintendo eShop.
