Summary of Changes to Nintendo Account User Agreement

Updates to the Nintendo Account User Agreement (the “Agreement”) were made in April 2021. The current version of the agreement can be found here and for your convenience, we’ve summarized the updates below: 

  • Section 4 (Use of the Nintendo Account Services) has been updated to inform you that Nintendo has implemented reCAPTCHA Enterprise, a Google service, in connection with certain Nintendo Account Services, and that you are bound by Google’s terms for that service.

  • Section 11 (Nintendo of America Community Guidelines) has been updated to refer to our revised Nintendo of America Community Guidelines (formerly referred to as Nintendo’s “Code of Conduct”). 

  • Section 17 (Severability) has been updated to clarify that the terms in the Agreement apply to you to the greatest extent permitted under the laws of your specific jurisdiction. 



Summary of Changes to Nintendo Account Purchase and Subscription Terms

Updates to the Nintendo Account Purchase and Subscription Terms (the “Purchase Terms”) were made in February 2022. The current version of the Purchase Terms can be found here and for your convenience, we’ve summarized the updates below:

  • Section 2 (Ordering and Payment) has been updated to link to our Nintendo returns and exchanges policy.

  • Section 4 (Rights and Restrictions) has been updated to clarify that products purchased through your Nintendo Account are for your personal use only and may not be resold.

  • Section 5 (Subscriptions) has been updated to clarify that the Features that are licensed to you as part of your Nintendo Switch Online Subscription will expire at the end of your Subscription term.
