How to Receive Save Data Bonuses From Splatoon 2 Data in Splatoon 3

In this article, you’ll learn how to receive in-game bonuses for transferring certain Splatoon 2 save data on your console to Splatoon 3.

    Note

    • This feature does not delete your Splatoon 2 save data, or affect it in any way. It only unlocks bonuses in Splatoon 3.
    • Transferring your save data does not affect your player level in Splatoon 3.
    • You must be connected to the Internet to receive the prompt to transfer.

    Information

If there's save data from Splatoon 2 on your console, part of it can be transferred to Splatoon 3. There are even some in-game rewards for doing so:

    • Receive three Gold Sheldon Licenses that you can exchange for main weapons, regardless of player level
    • Join Anarchy Battles from the beginning of the game, regardless of player level
    • Start the game with a higher rank, depending on your rank in Splatoon 2
    • Get matched against players with similar skill levels from Splatoon 2

    Complete these steps

    1. Confirm that your Splatoon 2 save data is on this console and tied to your user by launching Splatoon 2 from the HOME Menu.
      • If you no longer have access to the Splatoon 2 software, you can review whether you have save data on the console in System Settings > Data Management > Delete Save Data. (Do not actually select to delete any save data.)
      • If you do not see your save data in-game or in Data Management, please see our guidance for Game Save Data is Missing or Cannot Be Read.
    2. Ensure your Splatoon 3 software has the latest updates.
    3. Launch Splatoon 3 from the HOME Menu with the same user that has Splatoon 2 data.
    4. After the software starts, you’ll be prompted to transfer your Splatoon 2 save data. Select Impooort! to transfer the save data.
      • If this is your first time starting the Splatoon 3 software, the prompt may occur a bit later in gameplay, but before you can start your first online battle.

    Situation Not Resolved:

If you do not receive the prompt to transfer your Splatoon 2 save data before starting your first online battle, or you selected not to transfer, you will be unable to transfer Splatoon 2 save data to Splatoon 3 for this Nintendo Account. The option to transfer is only available once per Nintendo Account, even if you delete your Splatoon 3 save data and start over.

All the benefits unlocked by transferring this save data can be achieved through regular gameplay.
