Pokémon Platinum Version

System: Nintendo DS Release date: 22/05/2009

As of May 20th, 2014, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service was discontinued and it is now no longer possible to use online features of Nintendo DS/DSi and Wii software such as online play, matchmaking, competitions and leaderboards. For more information, please visit our Support section.

The Sinnoh region lies in wait for a hero as Team Galactic set their dark plans in motion. In Pokémon Platinum Version for Nintendo DS, only you possess the power to set things right.

Packed with many brand new features, including the Distortion World, Pokémon Platinum Version follows on from the success of Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version. The mysterious Distortion World is governed by neither Time nor Space, but to succeed in your mission you’ll have to enter it and overcome the tricky challenges it holds. Along the way you’ll cross the huge Legendary Renegade Pokémon, Giratina in its new Origin Forme, and face other Legendaries like Dialga and Palkia, as well as the Lake trio of Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit.

On top of that, if you get your hands on the elusive Shaymin for your copy of Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl, you can transfer it to Platinum and witness it taking on the brand new Sky Forme. (Click here to find out more about getting Shaymin).

Of course, building up a collection of rare Pokémon is fine, but success in Pokémon Platinum Version depends on how you direct them in Battle! The latest installment in the Pokémon series puts your skills as a Trainer to the test like never before, with challenges coming thick and fast. The Battle Frontier is an area that houses all kinds of rock hard challenges. Victory within five different facilities of the Battle Frontier is rewarded with Battle Points that can be exchanged for well-earned prizes.

Away from the game’s main quest, you’ll also want to prove your worth on a global scale by battling registered friends over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. You can even take a look at other Trainers’ exploits online – watching their favourite Battles via the Global Terminal with the new Battle Video feature, or submitting yours to participate in the worldwide rankings!

Prepare for an exciting new Pokémon experience that throws you into the sprawling Pokémon universe like never before. In Pokémon Platinum Version, only the strongest of Pokémon Trainers will successfully save the Sinnoh region and prove their prowess on a global scale.

  • Step back into the Sinnoh region and beyond as the mysterious Distortion World emerges.
  • Engage in epic Battles in the game or against friends, using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, sharing your greatest victories via the Global Terminal.
  • Transfer Shaymin from Pokémon Diamond Version or Pokémon Pearl Version to see it in its all-new Sky Forme, and see the Legendary Renegade Pokémon Giratina in its Origin Forme.
  • See your heroes in winter wear as they brave the cold weather in the Sinnoh region.
