Serve up some friendly competition in Nintendo Switch Sports, available now!

Grab your gear and step into Spocco Square with the Nintendo Switch™ Sports game!

In the latest iteration of the Wii Sports™ series, you can play solo or face off against your family and friends in six different sports: Soccer, Volleyball, Bowling, Tennis, Badminton, and Chambara (which is a type of swordplay).

Now, if you’re thinking, “I’ve never played a sport. Can I still play this game?” Absolutely! Whether you were part of the undefeated Wild Turkeys* or you’ve never put on a pair of bowling shoes, intuitive motion controls allow you to hit the lanes (or court, field, etc.) no matter your experience level.

It’s game time!

Bring the thrill of some of your favorite sports to life!

Soccer:

Whether you’re looking to play solo or with friends**, there are a number of different soccer modes to try in Nintendo Switch Sports.

  • Shoot-Out: You can face off against one opponent on a single Nintendo Switch system in Shoot-Out***. Each player will get five tries to make a goal and see who can earn the most points. Attach a Joy-Con™ controller to the Leg Strap accessory to kick a gigantic ball into ever-shrinking goals.

  • Four-on-Four: Play a game of 4 vs. 4 with a friend on the same system, online**** with your crew, or join up an online group with random matchmaking. Whichever team scores the most points in three minutes will be the victor.

  • One-on-One: Whether you’re looking to play online or on the same system, you and a friend can compete to see who can score the most points in two minutes.

  • Free Practice: In this single-player mode, it’s just you and the ball. You can hone your skills as much you like.

Volleyball:

Send the ball over the net to try to hit the ground on your opponent’s side in Volleyball. But remember you’ll need to prevent the other team from returning the favor. You can hold and move one Joy-Con controller to serve, set, block, bump, and spike your way to victory.

Bowling:

In Bowling, you can play solo or in two-player teams as you aim to knock down pins at the end of the lane. If each player has a Joy-Con controller, everyone can roll at once—no waiting! Try to be the last player standing in Survival Bowling or compete on lanes with challenging obstacles in Special Bowling.

Tennis:

Ready to get into the swing of things? Tennis lets you hold and move one Joy-Con controller like a racket to perform different kinds of swings. Try to add a top-spin or back-spin to your shot by twisting your controller.

Badminton:

In Badminton, you can hold and move one Joy-Con controller like a racket to perform different kinds of swings and unleash powerful smash shots. Hit the shuttlecock back and forth across the net and win rallies to score points.

Chambara:

Chambara lets you slash at your opponent while holding one Joy-Con controller with both hands as if you were gripping a sword. Make use of both attack and guard to catch your opponent off guard.

We hope that you’ll enjoy you time in Spocco Square! But please remember that no one wants to feel the unintentional wrath of a controller. Please use the wrist strap on your Joy-Con controller, be aware of your surroundings, and make sure you have plenty of space to enjoy yourself.

Happy gaming!

*Bowling three strikes in a row is known as a Turkey. This is because in the way-back-when days, if someone could hit three strikes in a row during a tournament, they could WIN a turkey! Six strikes in a row are known as a Wild Turkey.
