Gameplay tips

Strikers Club: Online

If you’ve been wanting to learn a bit more about how you and your friends can work together in Strikers Club, we’ve got you covered!

In this mode, you and your clubmates can push and shove your way up the ranks to be the world’s top club. In each online* match, up to four players per club can compete. You can bring along a secondary striker on the same system, or pair up with an additional system**.

That means:

  • Up to two players per system

  • Up to two systems per club, per match

  • And up to four players per club, per match

Auto and Manual controls

You may have noticed that when you select a character, you’re given the choice between Auto and Manual controls. But what does that mean?

  • Auto controls mean that if you pass the ball to another character (not under the control of another player) or it's up for grabs, you automatically gain control of the character on your team receiving the ball. So, say you’re playing as Wario and want to kick the ball to Waluigi. If you play using auto controls, as soon as you pass the ball to Waluigi, you gain control of Waluigi.

  • Manual controls, on the other hand, mean that you can manually change characters by pressing the L Button. So, back to our dynamic duo. If you’re Wario and want to pass the ball to Waluigi, but do not want to control it, the CPU will get the ball and continue playing as Waluigi. If you do want to be Waluigi (cause, really, who wouldn’t?), you can press the L Button and gain control of him.

We hope these helpful tips will have you ready to step onto the field.
