FAQs

I received a ticket but can no longer attend. What should I do?

Please cancel your event ticket so we can offer it to those on the wait list.

You can make changes to your tickets here: https://experience.nintendo.com/#/my-tickets-passes

Instructions: (1) Select the Event Tickets tab, (2) select "Can't make it? Cancel your ticket(s)," (3) check "I'm sure," and (4) select "Cancel Ticket".

How does the waitlist work?

Anyone who doesn’t already have an event ticket may join a waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis. You can join as an individual, or as a Nintendo Account family group of up to six people total per waitlist group.

If your name is selected from a waitlist, you will be notified via email sent to the email address associated with your Nintendo Account.

You’ll have 36 hours from the time the email arrives to claim the offer before the opportunity expires. Please be sure to add no-reply@noa.nintendo.com to your safe sender list, and check your email (including Junk, Spam, or Promotions folders) regularly.

Did my original event registration drawing entry get automatically placed on a waitlist if I didn’t win an event ticket?

No. If your name wasn’t drawn to receive a ticket, you will need to manually enter the waitlist.

Why can’t I join a waitlist?

There are several possible reasons:

  • You already have a ticket.

  • You are under 18 years old. Those over 18 can enter the waitlist as an individual or family group. Those under 18 need to join the waitlist as part of a Nintendo Account family group.

  • The waitlist period has closed.

  • No additional event tickets are available.

I'm on a waitlist. What’s next?

Tickets may become available if others cancel the ticket(s) they received from the original drawing. If you are on the waitlist, we will notify you via email if an offer is available.

We will only contact you via email if you are offered a ticket from a waitlist, and you will have 36 hours from when the email arrives to claim the offer before the opportunity expires. Please be sure to add no-reply@noa.nintendo.com to your safe sender list, and check your email account’s Junk, Spam, or Promotions folder regularly.

When will the waitlists close?

We encourage you to enter your name(s) on the waitlists as soon as possible.

I’m on a waitlist but can no longer attend. What should I do?

If you no longer can make the event, please cancel your waitlist entry so we can offer it to the next person in the waitlist.

To do that, please visit your "My Tickets / Passes" page, open the “Waitlist” tab, and then select “Leave Waitlist” from the menu.

You can always come back and rejoin a waitlist if you wish. Please note that you will rejoin at the back of the waitlist, not at your previous position.

Can I sign up for more than one waitlist?

Yes. The first ticket you reserve will take you off the remaining waitlists, though, as you may only attend one session.

Can I receive more than one waitlist ticket offer at a time?

No. Whichever waitlist becomes available first will be the first to be offered. You will not receive any other offers until you have accepted or rejected the first ticket offer, or until that offer has expired.

I have a ticket, but the day wasn’t my first choice. Can I join a waitlist for another day/time while holding onto the ticket that I currently have?

No. If you have a ticket for one of the events, you cannot add your name to a waitlist. If you’d like, you can cancel your ticket and join the waitlist for your preferred day/time, but there is no guarantee that you will receive a ticket offer from that waitlist.

How do I change the number of tickets I’m requesting?

On the registration portal, go to "My Tickets" and open the "Waitlist" tab. Select “Edit Waitlist” from the menu. This will not affect your position on the waitlist.

I passed when my turn on the waitlist came up, but now I want to go. What do I do?

If you pass on a ticket offer, the offer will go to someone else on the waitlist. You can rejoin a waitlist to see if another opportunity comes up. Please note that you will rejoin at the bottom of the waitlist, not at your previous position.

I didn't reserve my ticket offer within 36 hours. Can I still get the ticket(s)?

Once the offer expires after 36 hours, the ticket will be offered to the next person on the waitlist. You can add yourself to a waitlist again for another possible chance to attend. Please note that you will rejoin at the back of the waitlist, not at your previous position.

I'm on the waitlist. Can my family members also get on the waitlist?

If you joined a waitlist as an individual and would like members of your Nintendo Account family group to join, you will need to leave the waitlist and rejoin with your family group. Please note that you will rejoin at the back of the waitlist.

Anyone under the age of 18 will need to join a waitlist as part of a family group.

Will everyone in my party who entered the waitlist be able to attend if we get a ticket offer?

Your offer will be for the same number of tickets as you originally requested. That means, if you are part of a group of six people, you will only be notified if another group of six people cancels their tickets or drops out of the waitlist. You will not be offered tickets in smaller batches (e.g. four tickets and then two additional tickets later).

How do I get tickets?

The Nintendo Switch2 Experience events require an entry ticket received from a free-to-enter, randomly selected drawing.

You can register for a chance to receive tickets here at any time before Sunday, January 26 at 11:59 p.m. local time per each Event location. The drawing is free to enter. Please note there is no guarantee you will be selected to receive a ticket.

When you register, you can select the number of tickets you are requesting and the session you’d like to attend. To register for the drawing, you must be at least 18 years old and have a Nintendo Account. If you are registering as a group, each member of the group must have a Nintendo Account that is linked to the same Nintendo Account family group.

If someone under the age of 13 wants to attend, a parent or guardian can create a Nintendo Account for a child as part of a Nintendo Account Family group.

All attendees in the same group must attend the same session together.

All registrants must be U.S. residents.

How do I create a free Nintendo Account?

If you don’t yet have a Nintendo Account, visit https://accounts.nintendo.com/register to create one. For step-by-step instructions, visit Support.

How many people can I register at once?

You may enter the drawing as an individual or as a Nintendo Account Family group of up to six people. For groups of two or more, each attendee must have a Nintendo Account that is linked to a Nintendo Account Family group. All parties in the same group must attend together during the same session.

To create a Family group, visit https://accounts.nintendo.com and select “Family Group.” For step-by-step instructions, visit Support.

Do kids need a Nintendo Account to attend?

Anyone aged 13 or older can create a free Nintendo Account. Parents or guardians who are 18 years and older can create and add up to five additional Nintendo Accounts for children (ages 17 and under) to their Nintendo Account Family group.

Children aged 7 to 13 are required to have a Nintendo Account. A parent or guardian can create a child account as part of a Nintendo Account Family group.

Children aged 6 and under do not need an individual event ticket to attend, and therefore do not need a Nintendo Account. They may attend with their parent or guardian who does have an event ticket. Terms apply.

Do I increase my odds of getting an event ticket if I enter early in the registration period?

No—everyone who registers will have an equal chance of being selected.

Can I accept the Terms and Conditions for my entire group?

During the registration for a group, you can consent on behalf of yourself and Nintendo Account holders aged 17 and under. Any guests in your family group over the age of 18 will receive an email at their Nintendo Account email address so they can agree to the Terms and Conditions before the event. This must be done in advance of the event in order to attend.

Do kids need an event ticket to attend?

Children aged 6 and under do not need an individual event ticket to attend. They may attend with their parent or guardian who does have an event ticket.

Children aged 7 and above require a ticket and can receive tickets as part of a Nintendo Account Family group.

Will walk-up event tickets be available?

No—walk-up tickets on the days of the events will not be available. Please do not travel to the event if you do not have a ticket.

Can I attend more than one session per location?

There’s a limit of one ticketed entry per Nintendo Account or Nintendo Account Family group per location.

How will I be notified if I’m selected to receive event tickets (or if I’m not selected)?

After the drawing closes, an email will be sent to the email address associated with your Nintendo Account (individual ticket) or to the email address associated to the person registering for a Nintendo Account Family group (group tickets).

Please be sure to add no-reply@noa.nintendo.com to your safe sender list, and check your email inbox’s Junk, Spam, or Promotions folder.

What happens after I’m selected?

You’ll receive more details and information about the event via email as the date nears. All event communication will be sent to the email associated with your Nintendo Account. It is important to add no-reply@noa.nintendo.com to your safe sender list and check your email inbox’s Junk, Spam, or Promotions folder so you don’t miss an update.

Can I register for a chance to attend multiple days?

You can only enter one drawing across all days. To change the day you’d like a chance to attend, you’ll be able to cancel your drawing entry and register for a different day.

Can I register for my friend?

Your friend will need to register with their own Nintendo Account information. If they do not have a free Nintendo Account, they can sign up for one by visiting https://accounts.nintendo.com/register.

Can I give my event ticket to someone else?

No—event tickets are non-transferrable and one-time use only.

How much time do I have to complete my registration?

You’ll have 10 minutes to complete your registration, otherwise you risk losing that drawing entry. To save time, be sure to create your free Nintendo Account and set up your Family group in advance.
