Regarding Online Safety

When the Nintendo Switch system is connected to the internet,
certain game titles may allow you to send messages and images to other players.

In some cases, your children may be exposed to contact with strangers
or may share messages that can be viewed publicly.

Have you ever had an experience like this?

My child attempted to share an image or other personal information in a public place where it could be viewed by numerous other players within a game.

What should I do in a situation like this?

You can change the settings to turn off communication features, including the ability to post or exchange messages and images with other players.

A Helpful Tip

  • Please consider whether to set limits on the console after discussing with your child how they want to play games and whether they feel ready to use the communication features. You can choose to set limits or not on a per-game basis.
  • If you set restrictions, please do not share your parental controls password with your child.
  • Your child's gaming experience may change as games receive software updates which may add new features. Be sure to check in regularly and maybe even play games together sometimes.
