7.9" LCD display
The Nintendo Switch 2 screen is 1.6x larger than Nintendo Switch and just as slim.
The built-in LCD screen is capable of Full HD (1080p) resolution in handheld mode.
With about double the pixel count compared to Nintendo Switch's display, you can enjoy your games in higher resolution and greater detail.
A maximum frame rate of 120 fps enables even smoother gameplay in supported games.
Variable refresh rate (VRR) technology helps games move seamlessly by preventing frame skips and flickering.
High dynamic range (HDR) support brings greater, more detailed contrast between light and dark areas.
Play on a screen that shows off the finest of details.
Frame rate, HDR and VRR support vary depending on the software.
Take in all the detail with screen resolutions up to 4K when you connect the Nintendo Switch 2 console to a compatible TV using the dedicated dock. The console also supports HDR and frame rates up to 120 fps on compatible TVs.
4K resolution and HDR are available in supported games, and require a compatible display. Frame rate is fixed to a maximum of 60 fps for 4K output.
The Nintendo Switch 2 dock has a built-in fan, which helps stabilise performance.
Compatible TVs can automatically turn themselves on when they detect Nintendo Switch 2 powering on. The console supports Consumer Electronics Control (CEC), where the TV automatically detects and switches to the correct input. With Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), you can even have your compatible TV automatically change to its game-mode setting.
Please note: for more information, please check the instruction manual for your TV.
The stand on the back of the console can be adjusted to any angle up to 150 degrees – allowing you to freely find the comfiest placement, no matter where you're playing.
USB-C ports are now on the top and bottom of the system. Plug in the included AC adapter and play in tabletop mode while the system charges.
You can also connect a compatible USB-C camera (sold separately) to the top USB-C port and enjoy video chatting with GameChat anytime.
Nintendo Switch 2 comes with two Joy-Con 2 controllers.
Simply move the Joy-Con 2 controllers close to the sides of the console and they'll snap into place thanks to built-in magnets.
These strong magnets keep the controllers attached firmly to the console at all times. Simply press the release button on the back to disengage the magnetic lock – and off they come.
Accessories like the Joy-Con 2 wheel (sold separately) also take advantage of the new connection.
See those little sensors on the colourful sides of both Joy-Con 2 controllers? Place the sensors faced down on a surface and slide the controllers around to use them like a mouse in compatible games.
Whether passing one controller to a friend for multiplayer fun or using both yourself, mouse controls open up even more ways to play.
Please note: responsiveness of mouse controls may vary depending on the play surface.
The Left and Right Sticks are now larger and easier to rest your thumbs on. They also move more smoothly than before, with reduced noise.
The L and R Buttons are now longer, too, and the SL and SR Buttons are bigger for greater comfort and control when playing with a Joy-Con 2 held on its side.
The Joy-Con 2 strap makes it easier to get into the game. Snap it on easily – and pop it off with the touch of a button. Handy for whenever you play using motion controls.
Mouse controls are a breeze thanks to smoother gliding and better stability provided by the wider base of the Joy-Con 2 strap.
Be aware of your surroundings. Wear Joy-Con 2 straps and allow adequate room around you during gameplay.
More intense, more refined.
From a faint quiver to a powerful shake that'll leave an impression, HD rumble 2 powers up the fidelity and capability of force feedback.
HD rumble 2 responds quickly to in-game action and can convey even more complex rumble patterns, creating a more refined tactile feeling.
You can easily start a voice chat anytime, anywhere with GameChat and the built-in microphone of Nintendo Switch 2. Whether in TV mode, tabletop mode, or handheld mode, your friends are never far away.
Up to four people can share their screens in the same GameChat session.
There's a new C Button on the right Joy-Con 2 controller. Press it to easily bring up GameChat at any time, even if you're in the middle of a game.
While using GameChat, use the C Button to pull up chat controls as you need them, like muting others or leaving the chat.
Nintendo Switch 2 has a built-in microphone on the top of the console. No additional accessories are required to spark up a conversation with friends.
The microphone filters out game sounds and environmental noise around you – delivering your voice with added clarity.
The mic also conveniently adjusts the volume of your voice that it picks up. This helps your friends comfortably hear you, whether you're playing in a large space with others or tucked away in a quiet room.
Make it a video chat with the Nintendo Switch 2 camera or a compatible USB-C camera (each sold separately).
Check your USB-C camera's compatibility in the Nintendo Switch 2 system settings.
