What are WEP and WPA?
WEP and WPA are common types of security that are used to protect home wireless networks. When WEP or WPA is turned on ("enabled"), your router uses a special security key combination to allow only devices that know this key to connect to your wireless network. This applies to laptops, gaming systems, or any other wireless device.
Important! Nintendo DS Game Cards are only compatible with WEP security, and are not compatible with WPA security, even if you are playing them on a Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, or Nintendo 3DS. (More info)
Where do I find my router's WEP or WPA security code?
Once you find your WEP or WPA key, write it down exactly as it appears. Take the key and enter it into your Wii or Nintendo DS when prompted during the set up process. Use the links below for specific help:
