How long does the rechargeable battery last before it needs to be charged again?

The battery requires roughly 3 hours of charging. It is okay to continue to play the Game Boy micro while it is charging, though the unit will take longer to charge.
Fun Fact: The Game Boy micro's power lights will change from blue to red when the battery life is at 30% - 20%.
How long does the battery take to charge?
The battery requires about 2.5 hours of charging. You will know when it is fully charged when the flashing blue Start and Select buttons turn off. It is okay to continue to play the Game Boy micro while it is charging, though the unit will take longer to charge.
Will I ever need to replace the rechargeable battery?

We recommend charging the battery pack completely before its first use. We also recommend charging it completely if you haven't played the Game Boy micro for the first time. It takes about three hours--with the unit turned off--to fully charge the battery.
Other than those two instances, you can recharge the battery pack at any time. A full charge lasts about 13 with the light turned all the way down. The Game Boy micro's power lights will change from blue to red when the battery life is at 20% - 30%.
Note: The unit should not be left uncharged for long periods of time. Leaving it uncharged for long periods (months) may shorten the battery life. As with all batteries, the charge will slowly dissipate if not re-charged, even if it's not turned on.
The Game Boy micro uses a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.
Can I play my Game Boy micro while I'm recharging the battery?
Yes, it is possible to play your Game Boy micro while the battery is recharging; however, this will cause the charging process to take longer than the typical three hours when the system is not being played at the same time.
