Unrecognised or Unauthorised Charge from Nintendo on My Billing Statement
The information in this article can help when:
You see a payment to Nintendo on your credit card, bank, or PayPal statement that you do not recognise.
You receive an email from Nintendo with a receipt for a purchase you do not recognise.
Your privacy and account security are important to Nintendo. If you see an unknown charge from Nintendo, it is possible the charge was:
A recurring payment for a service or subscription that you authorized to automatically renew such as a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
A purchase made by a child, family member, or someone else you know who could access your credit card, PayPal information, or Nintendo Account.
A purchase that you don’t remember making, such as a pre-order on Nintendo eShop.
If you suspect that your credit card, PayPal account, or Nintendo Account may have been accessed by someone you don’t know, immediate action will be needed to prevent further charges.
Please use the information below to learn how to determine what the charge was for, who may have made it, and how to best address the situation.
What was the charge for?
Nintendo accepts payment for digital purchases through Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch or My Nintendo Store, physical orders through My Nintendo Store, and repair services. Follow these steps to determine what the charge was for.
If you or someone in your household has a Nintendo Account, check the account purchase history for a payment of the same amount and on the same date as the charge listed on your billing statement.
Visit http://accounts.nintendo.com, and sign in to the relevant Nintendo Account.
From the profile settings, select Purchase History.
Select "View History" next to Transaction History and scroll through the recent transactions.
Check your email address inbox for any store or payment confirmation invoices from Nintendo.
A Nintendo Switch Online membership was renewed.
Unless turned off, Nintendo Switch Online memberships will automatically renew before they expire. If you do not wish for your membership to auto-renew again, turn off auto-renewal.
An in-game subscription service was renewed.
Some games, like Fortnite, offer an in-game subscription service that may be set to automatically renew. You can turn off automatic renewal for any in-game subscription through Nintendo eShop.
For questions about the subscription, please contact the publisher of the game.

The charge was made by someone I know without my approval.
If you find that a family member or someone you know made the purchase without your authorization, consider the following steps to prevent it from occurring again.
Set parental controls for your Nintendo Switch system and your Nintendo Account to require a unique PIN to access Nintendo eShop or make purchases.
Set your Nintendo eShop Password-Entry Settings to require password-entry when opening Nintendo eShop.
Take security measures on your Nintendo Account to ensure only you can sign in to your Nintendo Account, including signing out of all devices, changing to a strong, unique password, and setting up 2-step verification.
Store your credit card in a secure place.
Adjust your PayPal security or sign-in settings.
If it is possible the charge was made by someone you know, please contact us for further assistance and do not dispute the charges to avoid restrictions being placed on the relevant Nintendo Account.
