Unable to Upload Screenshots and Videos from Nintendo Switch 2 to the Nintendo Switch App

Follow these steps if you cannot upload screenshots or videos to the Nintendo Switch App. You may receive one of the following messages:

  • "Can't upload screenshots or video from this software."

  • "Can't upload selected screenshots or videos."

Note: Some software may not allow uploading screenshots and videos, or may restrict captures from certain scenes in the game, such as those considered spoilers.

Before you start

  • The same Nintendo Account must be linked to your Nintendo Switch 2 system and signed into the Nintendo Switch App.

  • Your Nintendo Switch 2 system must be connected to the internet to upload screenshots to the Nintendo Switch App.

    • If you are not connected currently, the files will be added to your pending uploads and will be uploaded once connected to the internet again.

  • Visit Nintendo's Network Status page and check for any posted service maintenance or outages.

    • Please wait until the outage or maintenance has ended and check whether the issue is resolved before following this troubleshooting.
