Unable to Hear Other Players During GameChat
Follow these steps if you can't hear what friends in your GameChat room are saying.
What to do
Confirm whether you can hear other sounds from the system besides other users in the GameChat room. For example, start a game that has sounds you recognize, or open a video from the Album.
No sound at all
You will need to troubleshoot your audio output first. Follow the article for whichever method you are using to output audio from the system:
If you are able to hear other sounds after following those steps but still cannot hear other players in the room, continue with the steps below.
Try outputting the audio through the system speakers:
If you are playing in TV mode, remove the system from the dock and use it in Handheld mode or Tabletop mode.
If you are using headphones or speakers, unplug or disconnect them.
Check whether you have lowered the voice volume for any users you are unable to hear in the GameChat room.
How to change another user's voice volume in GameChat
Press the C Button to open the C Menu.
Select one of the users in the room.
Select Options.
You can adjust a volume slider for that user's voice volume.
For more information, please see How to Change GameChat Settings Using the GameChat Menu.
Have the other users check whether they have muted themselves, or have audio input issues on their end that are preventing you from hearing them.
Everyone in the room can also enable text to speech and type messages to each other while troubleshooting.
Have everyone leave the GameChat room (including yourself), restart your Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, and then create a new GameChat room with the same members.
