TV Output LED on the Nintendo Switch 2 Dock is Flashing

Steps for when the TV Output LED on the front of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock continues to flash or blink.

Note

  • When the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter is first plugged in to the dock, the TV output LED on the front of the dock should flash and then shut off. This is normal.

  • While the console is docked and the application screen is displayed on the TV, the TV output LED should remain solid green.

What to do

  1. Undock your Nintendo Switch 2 console.

  2. Check that your console has the latest system update installed.

  3. Restart the console.

  4. Update the firmware for the dock.

  5. Unplug the HDMI cable from the dock.

  6. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet and unplug the USB-C charging cable from the dock and the AC plug. Leave them unplugged for thirty seconds.

  7. Check that you’re using an undamaged Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter.

    • Non-licensed and/or damaged AC adapters may have compatibility problems with your console.

      • Check the model number to verify you are using the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter. The model number can be found on the bottom of the AC adapter. It should read MOD. NGN-01(AU) near the top of the text.

    • Check for any damage to the USB-C cable (fraying, kinks, knots, etc.) or the AC plug. If either part of the AC adapter is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

  8. Verify you are using the Nintendo Switch 2 dock (model No. BEE-005).

    • If a different accessory is being used, replacing it with the licensed dock may resolve the problem.

  9. Plug the USB-C cable back into the AC plug, the AC plug back into the outlet, then plug the USB-C cable into the dock.

  10. Connect the HDMI cable back into the dock. Make sure the other end is connected to a TV/monitor.

  11. Power on the console and place it in the dock. The console screen should face the same direction as the front panel of the dock.

Situation not resolved

  • If the TV output LED continues to flash when the console is docked, try testing the console with another dock if possible.

    • If the issue is resolved by using a second dock, the problematic dock only will need to be returned for assessment. Please contact us for further assistance.

    • If the issue persists with a second dock, or if another dock is unavailable, the console will need to be assessed. For testing purposes, include the original dock and the AC adapter. Please contact us for further assistance.

Additional information

The Nintendo Switch 2 dock is not compatible with Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model, or Nintendo Switch Lite.
