Nintendo Switch 2 Battery Charge Does Not Last Very Long

Help when your Nintendo Switch 2 console will fully charge and power on, but the battery charge depletes quickly when the AC adapter is disconnected or the console is undocked.

Important:

As with most products containing lithium-ion batteries, the Nintendo Switch 2 console's battery life will gradually decrease over time. This is normal and does not represent an issue with the console or with the battery.

What to do

When fully charged, the Nintendo Switch 2 console's battery should last between 2 and 6.5 hours. The battery duration varies depending on the software application and functions being used.

Charge the console fully, then observe if the battery charge lasts as long as the listed time.

Additional information

  • Nintendo Switch 2 consoles take approximately 3 hours to fully charge when they are powered off or in sleep mode. The charging time will be longer if the console is in use.
