Latest New Nintendo 2DS XL System update information

Updating your Nintendo 3DS System

Nintendo constantly aims to improve its services and the functionality of its consoles in order to provide customers with the best possible user experience. As a part of these efforts, we are making Nintendo 3DS system software updates available through the internet, and also by pre-installing them on selected Nintendo 3DS Game Cards.

IMPORTANT: Your Nintendo 3DS system and compatible software are not designed to be used with any hardware or software which have been technically modified in an unauthorised way, or with other unauthorised devices. If a Nintendo 3DS system or software title is updated, any unauthorised technical modification of the hardware or software of the system, or the use of any unauthorised device in connection with your Nintendo 3DS system, may render your Nintendo 3DS system permanently unplayable. Any content deriving from the unauthorised technical modification of the hardware or software of your Nintendo 3DS system may be removed.

System updates will be downloaded automatically when a wireless internet connection is available if you have a recent version of the Nintendo 3DS system software installed. When the download is complete, a message will appear on the HOME Menu detailing the steps to take in order to start installing the system update.

System updates can also be performed manually when a wireless internet connection is available by opening System Settings from the HOME Menu, selecting Other Settings and then System Update.
