How to Report Players for Inappropriate or Offensive Activity / Posts / Lockers (Splatoon 3)

In this article, you will learn how to:

  • Report players you have played with for inappropriate or offensive activity and nicknames

  • Report inappropriate or offensive posts and lockers created by other players

NOTE: Reports are sent to Nintendo for review, not the person who made the post.

How to Report a Player/Nickname:

Important: Players are expected to adhere to the Nintendo of Australia Community Guidelines.

  • The types of report that can be submitted are:

    • Inappropriate Nickname

    • Inactivity

    • Intentional Disconnection

    • Unsportsmanlike Play (Self-Destruction)

    • Unsportsmanlike Play (Disrupting Team)

    • Intentionally Not Contributing

    • Network Manipulation

    • Malicious Use of Glitches or Errors

    • Cheating

    • Griefing

  1. In the Lobby, go to the Lobby terminal, and select Battle Logs.

  2. Select the match where you interacted with the player.

  3. Press the – (Minus)Button to report a player.

  4. Move the cursor to the player you want to report and press the A Button to select them.

  5. Select the type of report to send, then select Next.

  6. Confirm that you want to send the report by selecting Report.

To report a Post

Important: Players can post to social media (Facebook or Twitter) from the drawing screen in the Main Square’s mailbox.

The types of report that can be submitted are:

  • Intrusion of Privacy

  • Violence/Physical Harm

  • Abusive/Harassing/Bullying

To report an offensive post
  • If the post is on a wall, use the ZR Button to bring up first-person view to focus on the post, and then press the – (Minus) Button to report and select the type of report to send.

  • If the post is from a specific Inkling in the Main Square, walk up to the Inkling, press the A Button, and then the – (Minus) Button to report and select the type of report to send.

To turn off all in-game posts
  • Access the Menu by pressing the X Button, navigate to Options, then Other, and then switch Post Display to OFF. Afterwards, only preset images created by Nintendo will be displayed. The game may need to be restarted for this setting to take effect.

How to Report a Locker

Important:Players can customize their own locker from the Locker Room in the Lobby, using acquired weapons, gear, and other various items.

  • The types of report that can be submitted are:

    • Exposing Personal Info

    • Violent Content

    • Inappropriate/Harmful

    • Hateful/Bullying

    • Advertising

    • Sexually Explicit

    • Other

  1. In the locker room, select the locker you want to report.

  2. Press the – (Minus) Button to report and select the type of report to send.

  3. Confirm that you want to send the report by selecting Report.
