How to Report Another User from a GameChat Room

Follow these steps to report a user who violates our Community Guidelines during GameChat.

Complete these steps

  • Press the C button to open the C Menu.

  • Select the user you want to report.

  • Select Report.

  • You will be prompted to leave the chat. Select Leave Chat and Report.

  • Review information about the reporting process, then select OK.

  • Select the category you want to report the user for: Exposing personal info, violent content or threat, inappropriate/harmful content, hateful/bullying, advertising, sexually explicit, or other.

  • You will be prompted to review a recording of the 3 minutes leading up to when you left the chat.

    • If you do not want to watch the recording for any reason, you can submit your report without reviewing it. The three minute recording will be included with your report, but our review will be focused on the last 30 seconds before you left the chat. Press the X Button, then select OK to proceed and skip the next step below.

  • Select Next, then use the control stick to pick a 30 second section that includes the problem. Once you've picked the section, select OK.

    • If the recording does not include the specific content you wanted to report, you can still report the user without this data. Press the X Button, then select Report Without Audio/Video to proceed.

  • Enter a reason for the report, up to 400 characters long, then select Next.

  • Confirm the information about the report, then select Submit Report.

  • Once the report is finished submitting, select OK.
