How to Remove Previously Downloaded DLC
In this article, you'll learn how to delete DLC, such as language packs, and redownload a game without also redownloading the DLC from the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Information
DLC cannot be deleted independently of the game it is associated with. However, if you delete the game, you can redownload only the game afterwards, without downloading the DLC.
Complete these steps
Make sure your console has the most recent system update.
Highlight the game for which you want to remove DLC from the HOME Menu and press the + Button.
Select Manage Software and then Delete Software.
This will not delete any Save Data.
Select Delete to continue.
Load the game through the Virtual Game Card Menu—be sure to only load the game, and not the DLC.
How to load a virtual game card
Select Virtual Game Cards from the HOME Menu.
Select your user.
If prompted, enter your user verification PIN or enter your Nintendo Account password.
Select the game you want to load from the list of your virtual game cards.
Select Load on This System.
If not already downloaded, the icon for the game will appear on the HOME Menu and it will begin downloading. Once downloaded, all users on the console where the game is loaded can play the game.
For more information, read the Virtual Game Card Guide.
The game will begin downloading automatically, without the DLC.
If you wish to redownload some of the DLC later, follow our steps on How to Redownload Nintendo Switch eShop content.
