How to Purchase or Extend a Nintendo Switch Online Membership
Instructions on purchasing a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Additional Information:
You can choose between a Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership and a Family Membership:
An Individual Membership provides the service to the Nintendo Account user that purchases the membership.
A Family Membership provides the service to everyone in the purchaser’s Nintendo Account family group (up to 8 people).
You can purchase multiple memberships of the same kind (Individual or Family) to extend out your overall membership time.
Family and Individual membership times cannot be combined – if you purchase one of each, you will receive whichever term length is longer.
Complete These Steps:
Select “Nintendo eShop” on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.
Select the account you want to use.
Select “Nintendo Switch Online” on the left side of the screen.
Select “Membership Options” to see the current membership pricing and plans.
Choose the membership plan you want to purchase, then select “Proceed to Purchase.”
To purchase a Family Membership, you must be aged 18+ and have a credit card or PayPal account.
Purchasing via Credit Card
Select “Credit Card.”
Enter the credit card number, expiration date, security code, and select “Next.”
If you are using the stored credit card, you will not need to re-enter the credit card information to complete the purchase.
Nintendo Account owners aged 18+ can click the “Save” box on the credit card entry screen to store credit card information.
Select “Add funds and purchase” to complete the purchase.
Your membership will automatically be set to auto-renew using your Nintendo eShop funds. Any additional funds will be charged to the payment method you used to place the order.
Purchasing via PayPal
Select “PayPal.”
This option is only available to those aged 18 years and older.
Link your PayPal account to your Nintendo Account, if you have not already done so.
Select “Add funds and purchase” to complete the purchase.
Your membership will automatically be set to auto-renew using your Nintendo eShop funds. Any additional funds will be charged to the payment method you used to place the order.
Purchasing via Download Code
Scroll down to “Redeem Code” and select “Enter.”
Enter the 16-digit download code for the Nintendo Switch Online membership, then select “OK.”
Any letters and symbols not used with prepaid codes (i.e. O, I, Z, commas, hyphens, etc.) will be disabled from the on-screen keyboard.
Select “Confirm” to complete the transaction.
Your membership will automatically be set to auto-renew using your available Nintendo eShop balance when your subscription term ends.
