How to Charge the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Controllers for Nintendo Switch

  • It takes approximately 3½ hours to fully charge a Super NES Controller for Nintendo Switch. 

  • When fully charged, the battery duration for the Super NES Controller for Nintendo Switch can last approximately 20 hours. This may vary depending on use. 

  • Once the Super NES Controller for Nintendo Switch is fully charged, the recharge LED beside the USB connector will shut off. 

  • Super NES Controller for Nintendo Switch can also be charged by connecting it to a licensed accessory, such as the Dual USB PlayStand for Nintendo Switch Lite from HORI.

The Super NES Controller for Nintendo Switch can be charged in the following ways:

  • While connected directly to the Nintendo Switch AC adapter.

    Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (model No. HAC-002(AUS)) to the USB connector at the top of the Super NES Controller, and then to a wall outlet. 

  • While connected to the Nintendo Switch dock.

  1. Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter to the dock and then to a wall outlet.

    Note: In order to charge the Super NES Controller, the Nintendo Switch console does not need to be docked.

  2. Connect the USB charging cable (model No. HAC-010) to an available USB port on the dock, then to the USB connector at the top of the Super NES Controller.
