Follow these steps to enable various accessibility options on Nintendo Switch 2, such as button mapping and text to speech.

Before you start

Ensure that your console has the most recent update installed, as some of these features are added via system updates.

Complete these steps

Select the feature you would like to enable and follow the steps.

Button mapping can be changed for the following controllers:

  • Joy-Con 2 controllers

  • Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controllers

  • Nintendo Switch 2 charging grips (GL/GR Buttons)

  • Joy-Con controllers and Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers

How to enable button mapping
  • Select System Settings from the HOME Menu.

  • Select the button you want to change the mapping for and select which button to map to.

  • Once you have finished making any desired changes, select Save.

  • If you want to return the button mapping to the defaults, you can select Reset from the Button Mapping menu later. This will not delete any registered presets.

Note: You can also enable Change Button Mapping from Quick Settings to add this option to the Quick Settings menu, accessed by pressing and holding the HOME Button.
