Forgot Nintendo Network ID

The information in this article can help you locate your Nintendo Network ID (NNID).

Note

  • If you no longer have access to the system the NNID is associated to (or if you have formatted that system), select PC/Smartphone below and follow the steps to access the information from the website.

  • If you don't remember the e-mail address, birth date, and/or nickname associated with your NNID, please contact us for additional support.

  • Nintendo Network ID's are used on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS family systems only. They are not used on Wii or Nintendo DS family systems.

What to do

You can locate your Nintendo Network ID on the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS or on your PC or smartphone browser.


Wii U

  1. From the Wii U Menu, select the current user icon in the top-left corner of the screen to go to the user selection screen.

  2. Select the user you want to find the Nintendo Network ID for.

  3. Your Nintendo Network ID is in orange text in the lower right-hand corner.

    • Your Mii name is written in black text, and appears in the lower left-hand corner. This is not the Nintendo Network ID.


Nintendo 3DS Family System

  1. Access the Nintendo Network ID Settings.

  2. Your Nintendo Network ID is written in grey text on the top screen (next to the word ID).

    • Your Mii name is written in black text, and also appears beside the picture of your Mii. This is not the Nintendo Network ID.


PC/Smartphone

  1. Visit the Forgot NNID website.

  2. Enter the E-Mail Address associated with your account into the appropriate field.

  3. Select either Birth Date or Nickname. Enter either your birthdate or the Nickname associated with the Mii on your system.

  4. Select Send.

  5. An e-mail with your Nintendo Network ID(s) will be sent to the e-mail address associated to your Nintendo Network account.
