Connectivity Issues Between Poké Ball Plus and Nintendo Switch

Description:

  • You are unable to pair Poké Ball Plus to Nintendo Switch.

  • The connection between Poké Ball Plus and Nintendo Switch is not working or is unstable.

What to Do:

  1. Ensure your console has the latest system update.If the console is already up to date, restart it by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, then select “Power Options” > “Restart.”

  2. Check for any software updates for your copy of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!.If there are no available updates, restart your game.

  3. Verify that Poké Ball Plus has sufficient battery charge.If the battery charge is low, allow Poké Ball Plus to charge before attempting to pair it to Nintendo Switch.

  4. Ensure you are attempting to pair Poké Ball Plus to Nintendo Switch within a supported game, not within the “Change Grip/Order” screen.

  5. If the issue persists, try the following:

    a) Delete all pairing information with Nintendo Switch, then attempt to pair it again to Poké Ball Plus.

    Complete These Steps:

    1.  Attach the Joy-Con to the Nintendo Switch console.

    2. From the HOME Menu, select “System Settings” > “Controllers and Sensors” > “Disconnect Controllers.”

    3. Hold down the “X” Button on the right Joy-Con until the blue circle is fully illuminated.

      • The attached Joy-Con can be used with the console. All other controllers will need to be paired again.

    b) Reset Poké Ball Plus, then attempt to pair it to Nintendo Switch.

Important:

  • Poké Ball Plus can be manually reset when it falls into an abnormal state, or when it won’t respond properly.

  • If Poké Ball Plus is reset while data is being written to it (scores, save data, etc.), the data may be lost and cannot be recovered.

Complete These Steps:

  1. Locate the RESET Button on Poké Ball Plus. It is a tiny, black button beside the base of the strap.

  2. Use the tip of a pen or a small object to press the RESET Button once. Poké Ball Plus will briefly vibrate.

  3. Attach the Joy-Con controllers to Nintendo Switch, then detach them and verify that the controllers can be used wirelessly with the console.
