Cannot Enter Password After Starting the Nintendo eShop
What to Do:
Return to the HOME Menu by pressing the HOME Button, and then try to access the Nintendo eShop again.
If you are unable to return to the HOME Menu, restart the Nintendo Switch console and then try to access the Nintendo eShop again.
Reset the cache saved for the affected account by completing the following steps:
The following steps will delete passwords, cookies, history, and other web related data saved in the Nintendo Switch console.
Select "System Settings" from the HOME Menu.
Scroll down and select "System."
Scroll down again, and select "Formatting Options."
Select "Reset Cache."
Select the user you would like to reset the cache for, and then select "Reset" to confirm.
If a microSD card is inserted into the console, power the console off, remove the microSD card, and then power the console back on and try to access the Nintendo eShop again. After this is done, whether the issue is resolved or not, power the console off, and re-insert the microSD card.
If the network being used to connect online has a network-wide adblock service or content blocking service enabled, disable this service and then try again.
Complete a connection test and check for any errors. If an error code is received, attempt troubleshooting related to that error code.
Move the Nintendo Switch console closer to the wireless router. If possible, place the Nintendo Switch within 3 to 5 meters of the wireless router to improve the signal strength during troubleshooting and see if this resolves the issue.
It may be helpful to remove the Nintendo Switch console from the Nintendo Switch dock while troubleshooting, and then return the console when troubleshooting is complete.
