Bluetooth® Audio Device Has a Delay

The information in this article can help when you are using a Bluetooth® audio device with your Nintendo Switch console and there is a delay in the audio.

What to do
  1. Update your console to the latest system version

  2. Restart the console by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, then select Power Options and Restart

  3. Power off your Bluetooth audio device and then power it on again. Ensure it is sufficiently charged.

    • Follow the instructions for your specific Bluetooth audio device to enable it to be paired again.

  4. Move your Bluetooth audio device closer to your Nintendo Switch console and ensure that there is no metal or electronic equipment between the audio device and the console or surrounding the console.

  5. Follow any troubleshooting steps recommended by your Bluetooth audio device’s manufacturer. Support can often be found on the manufacturer’s website or by contacting the manufacturer.

  6. Return to the Bluetooth Audio settings in System Settings and select Add Device to search for Bluetooth audio devices in range again. Select your Bluetooth audio device’s name when it is found and continue playing.

Situation not resolved

Some Bluetooth audio devices may experience a delay or lag, even when the console is behaving normally.

If the issue persists, try connecting a different Bluetooth audio device or using wired headphones connected to the audio jack.
