There are many ways to experience the boundless Paldea region with your friends, family, and Trainers all over the world. If you’re not sure where to start, keep reading!
Experience co-op play with the Union Circle
Access the Poké Portal to see the new Union Circle feature, which allows you and up to three friends to adventure together in the same space. Cheer each other on as you battle wild Pokémon and show off your Pokémon as you explore the Paldea region.
There is no single way to play using the Union Circle. You can wander around together and spend time with your friends how you want to!
Test your skills with Tera Raid Battles
Cooperate with three other Trainers to beat Tera Pokémon in the new battle format, Tera Raid Battles. Take on a Terastallized wild Pokémon within a time limit for a chance to capture it, you might also be rewarded with many useful items too!
You will be able to search for allies to join your Tera Raid Battles, or you can join in with players from around the world.
Trade Pokémon with each other
In the Poké Portal, there are two features that allow you to enjoy trading:
Trade Pokémon with a specific person using Link Trades
With a Surprise Trade, after choosing a Pokémon to trade, you’ll be able to trade with a random Trainer somewhere in the world
Make lots of trades to find your favourite Pokémon and complete the Pokédex!
Battle together
If you go to the Link Battle option in the Poké Portal, you’ll be able to have Pokémon battles with other Pokémon Trainers in the Battle Stadium.
There are many battle formats available such as Casual Battles, Ranked Battles, Online Competitions, and Rental Teams. Hone your skills in Pokémon battles with Trainers from all around the world, using the Pokémon you trained!
Get access to online play with Nintendo Switch Online
Boundless options await players who play Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet online with their Nintendo Switch Online membership! Eligible Nintendo Accounts can also make use of the 7-day free trial to get access to online features and more!
