10 tips to help save Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
14 October 2024
Experimenting with echoes is the key to helping Zelda save her kingdom in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. But besides finding unique and interesting ways to wield the power of the Tri Rod, there a few other things to bear in mind as the adventure unfolds...
1. Unleash the full power of bind and reverse bond
Tri’s bind and reverse bond abilities allow Zelda to do a whole lot more than just ride platforms and move big rocks! Use bind to tug buried chests out of the ground, or hold enemies in place while a monster echo mounts an attack. You can even bind yourself to echoes like the Crawltula or Keese to help you climb walls or sail over gaps.
2. Use the elements to your advantage
Plant-like enemies can be quite susceptible to fire, while you can use things like the Wind Cannon echo to blow out any unwanted flames. Certain echoes like the Buzz Blob carry an electric charge that can be extra-devastating in wet conditions too.
3. Allow yourself to get distracted
You’ll naturally find useful echoes while on your quest, but don’t be afraid if you get distracted! Heading off the main path might well lead you to find some handy echoes (and some handy items!) that could prove useful further down the line.
4. Take a look around
You can use the Right Stick to move the camera around while you’re exploring Hyrule. Creeping through Suthorn Forest and want to check for enemies lying in wait? Working your way up Eldin Volcano and want to check ahead for hidden drops? Get that camera moving and see what lies in store!
5. Revisit old areas
Once Zelda and Tri have cleared an area of its rifts, it doesn’t mean that the inhabitants are necessarily trouble-free! Head back to those areas and you may find some folks require help with additional tasks. Removing rifts also opens up those areas for exploration. You never know what you might find there, so it’s worth retreading your steps from time to time!
6. Stay on top of side quests
As it happens, quite a few of Hyrule’s inhabitants will ask for Zelda’s help along the way. You can keep track of all of your Side Quests in the adventure log. Selecting one will highlight that quest on the map so you know exactly where you need to head to when it’s time to collect your reward.
7. Seek out the Great Fairy
Some inhabitants will reward Zelda with accessories for helping them out. If you want to equip more than two though, then you should seek out the Great Fairy. She can help Zelda really accessorise on the path to true style.
8. Hit new heights in swordfighter form
Stacking echoes is a great way to reach high-up places, but sometimes you need a little extra height in your jump. Activate Zelda’s swordfighter form and you can jump just a touch higher, helping you reach previously inaccessible locations or escape from pursuing monsters!
9. Upgrade with Lueburry
If you find yourself wishing that swordfighter form lasted just a little bit longer, then Lueburry’s your guy! Head back to his house in Suthorn Forest after you’ve gathered a few might crystals and he can use them to boost your energy limit. He can improve your sword to unlock a little extra power too.
(Psst! Keep an eye out for unusual rock formations, and patches of dirt and grass when hunting for might crystals!)
10. Savour the smoothies
Don’t neglect to stock up on smoothies before pursuing your next quest! There are smoothies that can protect you from the cold, increase your defence, boost your swim speed and more. Be sure to experiment as much as possible to find the best beverage for the situation.
Keep exploring, experimenting with echoes, and chatting to the inhabitants of Hyrule – you’re bound to pick up plenty more wisdom as the adventure unfolds! Learn more about Zelda’s quest to save her kingdom on The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom gamepage.
