Business Affairs Supervisor

Our Business Affairs Department currently has a vacancy for a Business Affairs Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis.

Reporting into the Human Resources & Business Affairs Manager and working closely with the wider Business Affairs Department, Managers, and team members of other departments, this role is responsible for several functions within the Business Affairs team, such as performing and overseeing the team’s day-to-day operations, coordinating the administration of department procedures, and the effective supervision of the Purchasing & Administration Officer.

Key requirements for the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Various administrative tasks such as managing accurate department reporting, Administration Budget Forecast, and Company Records Management.

  • Supporting the Purchasing and Administration Officer in all areas of the role.

  • Managing policies and the Policy Register to ensure currency and accuracy, whilst acting as a ‘gatekeeper’, collaborating with policy owners to ensure thorough review before final approval process.

  • Various contract and vendor management tasks including management of the Company Contract Register and Approved Vendor list.

  • Various purchasing tasks including managing purchasing costs within specified budgets, preparing accurate and detailed purchasing reports, and ensuring adherence to sound internal control procedures.

  • Various facilities management tasks such as ensuring building maintenance is undertaken in a safe and timely manner.

  • Various sustainability / environmental tasks such as heading up the Environmental Committee as Committee Chairperson and managing the APCO (Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation) commitments, submitting the Action Plan and Annual Report in a timely manner.

To succeed in the role, you will require:

  • A minimum Certificate III in Business Management.

  • 3+ years’ experience in Office Management.

  • 3+ years supervisory experience.

  • Experience using SAP (for Purchase Orders, Vendor and Contract Management).

  • Excellent communication skills and able to deal professionally at all levels of the organisation with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain and respect confidentiality at all times.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills with an emphasis on Excel / Word.

  • Excellent time management and negotiation skills.
