Nintendo Network ID
for Nintendo 3DS

Available now

Make the most of your Nintendo 3DS by creating a Nintendo Network ID.

It’ll be as easy as choosing your Nintendo Network ID (ID), a unique username and password that will allow you to download free demos and other content*, post to Miiverse, and more.

Those who own both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems will be able to use the same ID across both devices. You’ll then be able to access the same Nintendo eShop wallet, making shopping for digital games more convenient than ever. If you create a brand-new ID for your Nintendo 3DS system or use a different ID than your Wii U one, your account balances across Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will not be combined.

*Please note that you’ll be required to have an ID to download free content from Nintendo eShop.

Before you create your ID...

Please note that only one ID can be registered for each Nintendo 3DS series system.

Your ID cannot be registered to more than one Nintendo 3DS system at one time. If you'd like to transfer your account to a new system, use the "Transfer title and data" procedure.

If you currently have a Wii U system connected to the internet...

We recommend that you register the same ID to your Nintendo 3DS system that you've registered to your Wii U system. Having the same ID will allow you to combine your Nintendo eShop account balances from each device.

  • Each ID registered to a Wii U can only be shared with one Nintendo 3DS system. (Nintendo eShop balances from multiple 3DS systems can’t be shared with an ID.)
