Wii Parents
Wii is all about family fun. So Wii has easy parental controls that allow you to choose the game or content that's right for your kids.
Wii Parents
With Wii, you can:
- Choose the Wii and Virtual Console games played by your child based on the ESRB rating.
- Access extra parental control options when you connect Wii to the Internet.
- Bypass parental controls with a PIN code, so you can access the games and content that you want to play.
Parent Tips
Check the Ratings
Finding the right games for your kids is easy if you follow the ESRB rating symbol and the content descriptions.
You know best
Every child is different, so use your judgment to decide which games are suitable for your family.
Use Wii Parental Controls
This is the best way to limit the type of content your child experiences.
Be Aware of Online-Enabled Games
Games that let users play with other people over the Internet sometimes allow chat or contain other user-generated content that is not part of the ESRB rating. Wii only allows open communication between users who have exchanged Friend Codes so communication is limited to users you want to interact with.
Play Video Games with your Kids
Watch what your kids play, and talk about games with them (and others) as often as possible. It’s a great bonding experience and it’s fun, too!
Don’t Stop at the Ratings
Game reviews and demos that allow you to sample games are broadly available online and in magazines. Nintendo.com also contains more detailed information on most Nintendo games.
