FAQ
What is the difference between Nintendo Account and Nintendo Network ID?

Nintendo Accounts and Nintendo Network IDs are used for different purposes.

A Nintendo Network ID (ID) is created and used on our dedicated video-game systems, Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. IDs are used for online features (such as online multiplayer or interactions) and for purchasing downloadable software through Nintendo eShop.

A Nintendo Account is necessary to use certain web services (like My Nintendo) and can be used with smart-device applications (like Miitomo).

Can you link multiple Nintendo Network IDs to one Nintendo Account?

Only one Nintendo Network ID can be linked to a Nintendo Account.

What do I do if I don't receive the email with the verification code when creating a Nintendo Account?

If it's been over a couple of hours since you submitted your registration, please try the following steps:

  • Check that you entered your e-mail address correctly.
  • Check your spam / junk e-mail folder to see if the e-mail is there.
  • Make sure there are no filters in your e-mail account that may be blocking e-mails from @accounts.nintendo.com.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, please click here for additional assistance.
