Error Code: 52032

Unable to connect to your wireless network

Likely cause: It appears that the security settings entered into the Wii console are not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow, or your router is not able to assign the Wii an IP address.

How to fix: Make sure the security key and security type are entered into the Wii exactly as they appear in your router's settings; manually assign an IP address to the Wii.

      Once you have entered the correct WEP or WPA key into your system, try the connection test again. If the problem persists, keep reading this page.

    Additional information:

    • Using an Actiontec or 2Wire router? The default security key is often found on a sticker located on the router.
    • Security keys are case-sensitive.
    • WEP keys contain numbers 0 through 9, and only letters A through F.
  2. Manually assign an IP address to your Wii console.

      Assigning an IP address to your Wii is easy!

    1. Access the Wii System settings and select "Internet" from Page 2.
    2. Select "Connection Settings" and choose the connection file you currently use (will have a red border around it).
    3. Select "Change Settings," and click the right blue arrow twice to reach "Auto-Obtain IP Address."
    4. Click on "No" and select "Advanced Settings."
    5. Now, click in the "IP Address" field to enter an IP address. Look at the brand of your router, and enter the IP address listed below into the field.

      • Linksys - enter: 192.168.001.140
      • Netgear - enter: 192.168.001.250
      • Belkin - enter: 192.168.002.090
      • D-Link - enter: 192.168.000.190
      • Apple - enter: 010.000.001.250
      • 2Wire - enter: 192.168.001.250
      • Actiontec - enter: 192.168.001.250
      • SMC Networks - enter: 192.168.002.190

    6. Once the IP address is entered, select "OK."
    7. Select the Subnet Mask box, then enter 255.255.255.0 and select "OK."
    8. Select the Default Router box. You will need to enter the defail gateway address for your router brand. Look at the brand of your router, and enter the gateway address listed below into the field.

      • Linksys - enter: 192.168.001.001
      • Netgear - enter: 192.168.001.001
      • Belkin - enter: 192.168.002.001
      • D-Link - enter: 192.168.000.001
      • Apple - enter: 010.000.001.253
      • 2Wire - enter: 192.168.001.254
      • Actiontec - enter: 192.168.001.001
      • SMC Networks - enter: 192.168.002.001

    9. Select "Confirm" but DO NOT select "Save."
    10. Tap the right arrow to reach the page ro "Auto Obtain DNS."
    11. Select "No" and then "Advanced Settings."
    12. Click into the "Primary DNS" field and enter: 008.008.008.008
    13. Click into the "Secondary DNS" field and enter: 008.008.004.004

      Please note: These are public DNS's provided by Google and are subject to Google's Terms of Service. If you prefer to not use this service, doing an Internet search for "public DNS" will provide you with several other options you can use.

    14. Select "Confirm," and then "Save."
    15. Click on "Save" and then "OK" to perform a connection test.
    16. If the test was successful, then your Wii is now connected online. If you received error code 52130, please call 1-800-255-3700 so that we may assist you further.

  3. Other suggestions:
    • Did this connection used to work but has suddently stopped? "Power cycle" your router by unplugging it from the power outlet. Wait a few minutes, and plug the router back in. Wait a couple of minutes for it to initialize, and try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response.
    • The Wii may have detected and set itself to the wrong security type during the initial connection set up. Try creating a new connection file and going through the connection process again (steps), but be sure that when the Wii asks for a security code, the type shown on screen (WEP or WPA) is what your router is set to. If it is different, try a "Manual Setup."
    • Check for wireless interference, which can affect the signal strength to the Wii console. To help minimize wireless interference, try the following:

      • Make sure other wireless devices such as cordless phones or wireless speakers are turned off, and that the Wii console is an open area without objects or electronics blocking the signal. (For instance, if the Wii is placed in a crowded entertainment center, try moving the Wii somewhere with more room.)
      • Change your router's channel setting to 1 or 11. By default, most routers broadcast on channel 6, which overlaps with other channels and may be weaker. For help doing this, click here and select your router brand and model (if available). The information you need is found in the "Broadcast Channel:" area.
