What
are the online features of Picross DS?
Picross DS lets players battle head-to-head against other players anonymously, or with specific friends that they have exchanged Friend Codes with. In addition, users who have exchanged friend codes can exchange custom-made puzzles over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Please note that the ability to download free puzzles created by Nintendo is net yet available.

How
do I get a Friend Code in Picross DS?
In order to get a Friend Code, you must first connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service at least once with your Picross DS game.
Once you have connected at least once, you can access your Friend Code as follows:
- On the Title Menu, select "Settings," then select "Friend Settings."
- Select "Confirm Friend Code" to view your Friend Code.
Note: You will not have a Friend Code until you connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for the first time.

How do I add a Friend Code in Picross DS?
In order to get a Friend Code, you must first connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service at least once with your Picross DS game.
Once you have connected at least once, you can access your Friend Code as follows:
- On the Title Menu, select "Settings," then select "Friend Settings."
- Select "Register a Friend," then use the keyboard to enter their Friend Code.
- Select "OK" twice to confirm.

How do I play with a Friend online in Picross DS?
Select "Play Against Friends" from the Picross Challenge Menu to challenge opponents on your Friend Roster. Each round consists of two puzzles.
- On the Title Menu, select "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection," then select "OK."
- Select "Picross Challenge" then "Yes" to connect to the Nintendo WFC.
- Select "Challenge a friend." The system will search for opponents on your Friend Roster.
- When an opponent is found, both players' names will appear on the screen.
- On both systems, select the number of hints you want (0-5), then confirm to begin the puzzles.

How do I exchange custom puzzles with a friend?
There are two parts to exchanging custom puzzles with friends: "Uploading" a puzzle for a friend to use, or "Downloading" a puzzle that a friend has created.
To Upload Your Original Puzzles from My Picross:
- On the Title Menu, select "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection," then select "OK."
- Select "Community," then "Yes" to connect to the Nintendo WFC.
- Select "Puzzle Exchange."
- Select "Upload to your area," then "Upload."
- You will be taken to the My Picross mode. Select the puzzle you want to upload, then select "Confirm," then Yes" to upload the puzzle.
To Download Puzzles from Friends:
- On the Title Menu, select "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection," then select "OK."
- Select "Community," then "Yes" to connect to the Nintendo WFC.
- Select "Puzzle Exchange."
- Select "Download from a friend's area," then select the friend you want to download from. Note that the friend does NOT need to be online at the time, but they must have already uploaded a puzzle at some point.
- Your friend's puzzles will appear. Highlight the one you want, and select "Download," then "Yes."
- Once it has been downloaded, the puzzle will appear in the "Original" area of My Picross mode.
