Situation:
- The Wii is unable to use any Check Mii Out Channel functions.
What to Do:
If receiving error codes whenever trying to do something on the Check Mii Out Channel (i.e. post a Mii, enter a contest, change the Mii Artisan, etc.), this indicates that the channel data doesn't match the console. This could happen if the system was sent in for repair and we had to transfer the data but weren't able to keep it associated to the console for one reason or another, or if the Check Mii Out Channel save data was transferred from another console or from the same console after reformatting.
The only way to resolve this problem is to delete the Check Mii Out Channel save data from the data management screen (not the channel management screen).
Situation:
- An error message is received on the Check Mii Out Channel stating, "The Mii you assigned as your Mii Artisan has been erased."
What to Do:

Situation:
- An error message is received on the Check Mii Out Channel stating "You can’t post a Mii you’ve received from someone else."
What to Do:

The Mii will need to be re-created from the Mii Channel in order to use it.
Situation:
- An error message is received on the Check Mii Out Channel stating "You cannot submit this Mii."
What to Do:
This message appears when a Mii is submitted that was not created on the console. This message could appear if the system was sent in for repair and the Mii data had to be transferred to a new console.
The Mii will need to be re-created from the Mii Channel in order to submit it for a contest.
Situation:
- An error message is received on the Check Mii Out Channel stating "Sorry, but you can’t assign a Mii someone else sent you to be your Mii Artisan."

Situation:
- Unable to reply to a memo posted on the Message Board. The reply option isn’t there
Information:
The reply option isn't available because the message being viewed is a memo sent from the console, rather than a message sent from another console or an email address. Memos are created when you are sending a message to another person who uses the same Wii console as you. They are visible to anyone who has access to your Wii console, and they cannot be replied to. You must create a new Memo in order to post a response. (How to)
Situation:
- Wii Message Board messages are not being received with attachments
Information:
- The Wii Console is able to receive images in .jpg format. Any other types of images cannot be viewed and may be undeliverable.
- Some web-based email services format attached images in a way that is not compatible with the Wii console.
Situation:
- The Wii Message Board is receiving multiple messages sent from Nintendo
Information:
This issue is likely due to the Wii console being connected through a proxy server. Multiple messages can appear in the Wii's Message Board because the proxy server is assigning a new date for when the information was last modified. This is not an issue with the Wii console or Nintendo's servers.
What to Do:
- This issue can normally be resolved by updating to system menu 3.0. (How To)
- If connecting through a proxy server:
- If unsure about connecting through a proxy server:
Try disabling the proxy server or connect the Wii console from outside of the proxy server. If you are unable to do so, you will need to contact your proxy administrator to request that they not change the modified date on objects received through the proxy. They may be able to disable this on a per domain or per user basis. If so, the administrator should disable this setting for the nintendowifi.net domain (including all subdomains).
Try contacting the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to request that they not change the modified date on objects received through the proxy. The ISP may be able to disable this on a per domain or per user basis. If so, the ISP should disable this setting for the nintendowifi.net domain (including all subdomains).
Try leaving an unopened message in the WiiConnect24 message area. This may prevent additional emails from being delivered. If this does not work, consider turning off the WiiConnect24 messaging (how to) until the Wii can be used outside of a proxy server.
Situation:
- Unwanted promotional messages from Nintendo are appearing in the Wii Message Board.
What to Do:
- These messages are only sent to people who opted in to receive messages from the Nintendo Channel. Opt out of receiving these messages by selecting the "Opt Out" button on the message.
Situation:
- A Mii created in the Mii Channel is not being saved
What to Do:
- If unable to save other types of data (such as Messages), it is likely a save data issue.
- Go to the Mii channel and create a new Mii, then complete the following steps:
- Once the Mii is created, verify that it shows up in the Mii Plaza.
- Power off the console, then power it back on and go back to the Mii channel.
- If the Mii is still there, the console is able to save.
- If the Mii is not there, press the whistle icon to arrange the Mii characters to verify that it hasn't simply wandered off the screen.

Situation:
- The video playback skips, is choppy, or stalls when using the Nintendo Channel
What to Do:
Because video is streamed to the Wii console in real time, any issues with the playback are likely caused by one of three things:
- Most common: There may be an issue with the home network, such as wireless interference. Please try our wireless home network troubleshooting for common solutions.
- If the video quality set to "High," try adjusting the quality down to normal. (How To)
- Due to a high amount of traffic, Nintendo's servers may be experiencing temporary issues. Please try to view the video again.
Situation:
- A message is received on the Nintendo Channel stating "There are no titles you can recommend."
- Games are not appearing in the Make a Recommendation screen.

This message will appear if attempting to rate a game or channel, but have not spent more than an hour playing any game or using a channel first.
- Only games listed on the Nintendo Channel are available to recommend. Please note, Nintendo GameCube games are not tracked as part of this service.
- A game or channel can only be recommended once.
Situation:
- Cannot load image or video
- Photos and video displayed as a "?" in the preview mode

Situation:
- Unable to save changes to photos made in the Photo Channel's "Fun" Modes
