Game Disc Replacement

What to do in the event you have a Wii or Nintendo GameCube game disc that needs replacement will depend on which company published the game. Nintendo can only offer repairs for games that are published by Nintendo (For example, Mario, Pokémon, Zelda, etc.). Many games available for Nintendo's systems are published by licensee companies.

There are two ways to determine who published your game:

    • Check the plastic case that the game came in when you bought it. The publisher's logo will appear on the front in the bottom right corner.
    • Find the game on Nintendo.com's Master Games List. You can search by name or sort alphabetically by title. Look in the "Publisher" column for the publisher's name.

    Published by a licensee company

  • If the game is published by a licensee company, you will need to contact that company for repair/replacement options. Click here for a list of current licensee companies and their contact information.
  • Published by Nintendo

  • If the game is published by Nintendo, and was purchased new within the last 90 days (not previously-played or used), Nintendo will attempt to provide a replacement. You must be able to provide the game and proof of purchase, and the game must not show signs of physical damage. Please call (800) 255-3700 for assistance.

  • If the game is published by Nintendo and it was purchased more than 90 days ago, or you do not have a proof of purchase, we cannot offer a warranty repair. (This also includes games that were purchased used or that are physically damaged.) We recommend purchasing a replacement copy of the game at a retailer.

Nintendo offers replacement game discs for games that cannot be purchased by themselves (these are games that are included with the system or bundled with a required accessory). Our Online Store currently offers discounted replacement discs for: Wii Sports, and Wii Fit.
