Wii Shop Channel Troubleshooting

 

This section covers problems relating to the Wii Shop Channel, including missing points, missing content, problems specific to downloaded games, etc.

    Connecting to the Wii Shop

    In order to connect to the Wii Shop Channel, you must have broadband internet access and have connected your Wii console online.

    Billing address issues

    For tax purposes, the Wii Shop service has certain requirements for the spelling of city, state abbreviation, and county names, as well as zip code confirmation.

    To ensure you are entering the information in a way that is accepted by the Wii Shop service, you can click here to determine exactly how your city, state, zip, and county information must be entered based on the state's tax requirement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


    Missing previously-downloaded games

    If you have downloaded a game to your Wii console, but have since deleted it or otherwise lost it, you can redownload it:

    1. Access the Wii Shop Channel (how to).
    2. Select "Start Shopping" and choose "Virtual Console."
    3. Browse through the available titles to find the game you need to re-download.
    4. Select "download" to download the game again.

    As long as you are using the same Wii console you used to originally download the game, you will be able to re-download it should the game be lost or deleted.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


    Purchasing issues

    Wii Points Card redemption issues

    Download times

    If you are experiencing long download times, we have found that changing the channel setting of your wireless router can help. We recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11.

    Error when entering Wii Shop

    If your system is displaying error codes:

    • 110210
    • 110211
    • 110212
    • 110213
    • 205926
    • 205927
    • 205928

    Or a message that says:

      "An error has occurred that cannot be resolved at this time. Please try again later. Visit support.nintendo.com for assistance if this continues."

    Although the console continue to operate for normal game play, these online connection errors cannot be fixed without having your Wii console serviced. Please click here for repair options.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


    Virtual Console games do not display properly, or do not display at all

    Some newer-model televisions may have difficulty properly displaying some Virtual Console games downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel. If you are experiencing problems (such as a blank screen but you can hear the game's audio), please try the following:

      Try changing the way your Wii console is connected to your television. For instance:
      • If the Wii console is connected to a VCR or cable box, try connecting the Wii directly to the TV (how to).
      • If the Wii console is connected to the TV directly, try connecting it to a VCR (how to).
      • If possible, try connecting to another TV.

      If any of the above are successful, it is recommended you use the connection that works. If the Virtual Console game still did not display properly after trying different connection types, please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.
