How to Download Wii Shop Channel Items
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to download Wii Shop Channel items (WiiWare Games, Virtual Console Games, WiiWare Game Demos, and Wii Channels).
What to do:
- Select the Wii Shop Channel on the Wii Menu and select "Start."
- Find a WiiWare game, Virtual Console game, or Wii Channel to download and select it.
- To find a WiiWare demo, search by the game name or go to WiiWare and select "Search by Genre" for a list of available demos.
- Select the desired game, channel or demo then select "Download" or "Redownload."
- A confirmation screen will appear. Select "Yes" to download the item.
- Choose "SD Card" to save directly to an SD or SDHC Card, or "Wii Console" to save it to the Wii console's system memory. (If the SD Card icon is grayed out, then there is not a compatible SD Card inserted into the SD Card slot on the Wii console.)

What to do:
- With the Wii console connected online, select the "Wii Shop Channel" from the Wii Menu.
- From the Wii Shop Channel main menu, select "Settings and Features."
- Select "Wii Download Ticket."
- Locate the 16-digit Wii Download Ticket number. Point inside the rectangle and enter the Wii Download Ticket number.
- Select "Now" to start the download. Once the download is complete, the item downloaded will appear on the Wii Menu.

How to Send a Gift Through the Wii Shop Channel
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to send a gift from one Wii console to another through the Wii Shop Channel.
Important Note!
- Wii Shop items (such as Virtual Console and WiiWare games) can only be sent to people who are registered to the Wii Address Book and are in the same country as the sender.
What to do:
- While in the Wii Shop Channel, locate the item you would like to send (such as a WiiWare or Virtual Console game) and select it.
- Select "Gift," and then "OK."
- Select the name of the Wii friend registered in your Address Book that you would like to send the item to, then enter a message and/or attach a Mii character, if desired.
- If the recipient is unable to receive the gift for any reason, an error message will appear and the gift will not be sent.
- The message "Gift-giving complete!" will appear. Select "OK" to return to the Wii Shop welcome screen.

How to Decline/Return a Gift
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to decline or return a gift via the Wii Shop.
Important Note!
The receiver has 45 days to receive the gift before it is automatically canceled and the points returned to the sender.
What to do:
- If a gift is available, a message will appear when entering the Wii Shop channel (before the Wii Shop Channel welcome screen), or with WiiConnect24 turned on, in the Wii Address Book. Select "OK" to view the game(s) that have been sent.
- Select the game you wish to decline, then select "Return" to refuse the gift. Select "Yes" to confirm that you want to return it.
- A message screen will appear. Enter a message and/or attach a Mii, if desired. Select "OK" to send the message, then "OK" again to return to the Wii Shop welcome screen.
- The Sender will received a message that the gift has been declined and the Wii Points used will be returned to their Wii Shop Account.

How to Accept a Gift from the Wii Shop Channel
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to receive a gift sent via the Wii Shop.
Important Note!
The receiver has 45 days to receive the gift before it is canceled and the points returned to the sender.
What to do:
- If a gift is available, a message will appear when entering the Wii Shop channel (before the Wii Shop Channel welcome screen), or with WiiConnect24 turned on, in the Wii Address Book. Select "OK" to view the game(s) that have been sent.
- Select the desired game, then select "Receive" to accept the gift.
- If Parental Controls are on, enter the PIN and select "OK" if prompted. The PIN is required if Parental Controls are set and the game's rating is higher than the Parental Controls allow.
- Select "OK," then select "Now" to download the game or "Later" if you wish to come back to the Wii Shop Channel at a later time to download the game. There is no time limit to when the game needs to be downloaded once received; the 45 day limit only applies until you select to receive the gift.
- A message screen will appear. Enter a message and/or attach a Mii, if desired. Select "OK" to send the message, then "OK" again to return to the Wii Shop welcome screen.

How to Set Gift Options
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to use Parental Controls to set gift options for the Wii Shop.
Important Note!
- This does not prevent downloading or sending gifts if the item has a Wii Point cost of 0.
- Parents can use Parental Controls to block gifts, along with all other communication sent by other users. (There is no way to block gifts without blocking all forms of communication.
What To Do to Block Gifts:
- From the Wii Menu, select the Wii Button.
- Select Wii Settings.
- Select the right arrow to reach page 2; select "Parental Controls."
- In the Parental Controls screen of the Wii Settings, select "Other."
- Select "Yes" when it asks if you want to restrict Wii Messages.

How to Purchase Wii Points with a Credit Card
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to purchase Wii Points with a credit card.
What to do:
- Access the Wii Shop Channel through the Wii console's Channel menu.
- If this is the first time using the Wii Shop Channel, read the User Agreement and click "I agree" if you understand and agree to the terms. Click "Okay" after reading the Wii Shop description.
- Once on the "Welcome to Wii Shop Channel" screen, select "Start Shopping."
- Click the "Add Wii Points" button.
- Select "Buy Wii Points with a Credit Card."
- Select the amount of Wii Points to be purchased. (Please note there is a maximum number of points that can be available on each Wii console.)
- Select the credit card type to be used to buy Wii Points. The Wii Shop accepts Visa or MasterCard.
- Enter the credit card number, expiration date, and three digit security code. Select "OK" when finished.
- Enter the billing city, state, zip, and county. Click "okay" to continue.
- Please do not input any punctuation, such as periods, commas, and apostrophes into the street, city, or county fields. For instance, "St. Clair Ave" would be "St Clair Ave" when entered.
- Review the purchase details on the confirmation screen and select "Yes" when finished.
- Once the purchase is processed, a confirmation screen will appear indicating that Wii Points were added to your Wii Shop account.

What to do:
- Access the Wii Shop Channel through the Wii console's Channel menu.
- If this is your first time using the Wii Shop Channel, read the User Agreement and click "I agree" if you understand and agree to the terms. Click "Okay" after reading the Wii Shop description.
- Once on the "Welcome to Wii Shop Channel" screen, select "Start Shopping."
- Click the "Add Wii Points" button.
- Select "Redeem Nintendo Points Card."
- Scratch off the silver area on the back of the Nintendo Points Card to reveal the card's activation number.
- Enter the activation number into the space on the screen.
- Select "OK" to continue.
- If you want to redeem the card, select "Redeem".
- Once the purchase is processed, a confirmation screen will appear indicating that Wii Points were added to your Wii Shop account.

How to View Available Wii Points in the Wii Shop Channel

Step by step instructions on how to view the available balance of Wii Points in the Wii Shop Channel.
What to do:
- Access the Wii Shop Channel through the Wii console's Channel menu. (How To)
- Once on the "Welcome to the Wii Shop Channel" screen, select "Start Shopping."
- The current Wii Points balance will be displayed in blue, near the bottom of the screen.
