- No noticeable difference when Wii MotionPlus is being used
- Check the packaging that the game came in and look for the icon below. Only games that feature the Wii MotionPlus accessory icon on their packaging will take advantage of Wii MotionPlus. If the game does not have the icon on its packaging, you won't notice any difference when using the Wii MotionPlus.
- Make sure the Wii MotionPlus connector plug is fully inserted into the Wii Remote. (Learn more)
- Press the HOME Button on the Wii Remote to check the battery level. If the batteries are low, remove the Wii MotionPlus accessory and jacket (how to), and change the batteries.
- Remove the Wii Motion Plus, and insert a Nunchuk accessory into the Wii Remote. Remove and reinsert the Nunchuk into the Wii Remote at least 10 times. After you've inserted the Nunchuk at least 10 times, remove the Nunchuck from the Wii Remote and reinsert the Wii Motion Plus, then test for proper response.

- Wii Remote cursor ("hand") moves on its own or moves erratically
If the Wii Remote cursor ("hand") moves on its own or moves erratically, your Wii MotionPlus accessory may need to be recalibrated. For example, this can happen if the Wii MotionPlus accessory was disconnected and reconnected from the Wii Remote during game play.
Follow these steps to recalibrate the Wii MotionPlus accessory:
- Start a game that uses the Wii MotionPlus accessory. (Look for the icon below on the game's packaging to ensure it uses Wii MotionPlus.
- During game play place the Wii Remote with the Wii MotionPlus attached on a flat horizontal surface (such as a table) with the buttons facing down.
- Wait for 10 seconds, then check for proper response.
If you have tried recalibrating but the cursor is still moving on its own or is erratic, please call 1-800-255-3700 so that we may assist you further.
- Motion is not being detected exactly as performed or cursor is not in the same spot you are pointing
If the Wii Remote's motions are not being detected exactly as you are performing, please try the following:
- Radio frequency interference may cause the Wii Remote to work erratically. Check for wireless devices such as cordless phones, wireless computer keyboards or mice, or other similar devices, and move or turn them off.
- Recalibrate the Wii MotionPlus accessory:
- Start a game that uses the Wii MotionPlus accessory. (Look for the icon below on the game's packaging to ensure it uses Wii MotionPlus.
- During game play place the Wii Remote with the Wii MotionPlus attached on a flat horizontal surface (such as a table) with the buttons facing down.
- Wait for 10 seconds, then check for proper response.
- Slow down any quick motions and test to see if the response is better.

Sudden changes in temperature can affect calibration. If the Wii MotionPlus accessory was just moved from a cooler or warmer location, give it about one (1) hour to acclimate to the new area.

- The Wii MotionPlus connector feels loose ("wobbly")
When touching the connector on the Wii MotionPlus, you may notice it feels a bit loose. This is the way it was designed and there is no need for repair.
- Battery life has decreased with use of the Wii MotionPlus accessory
Depending on the type of use, the battery life for Wii Remotes used with Wii MotionPlus can typically be expected to last about 25 hours. Normal battery life without the Wii MotionPlus accessory is around 35 hours.
