Game Boy Player - Using a Game Boy Advance
as a Controller
What you will need:
- Your Game Boy Player properly
attached to the Nintendo GameCube.
- A Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Advance SP (with no game paks
inserted).
- A Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable (link
here for more information on this accessory).
Hookup Instructions:
- Open the disc cover of the Nintendo GameCube and insert
the Game Boy Player Start-up Disc. Press it firmly into place and
close the disc cover.
- With the label side facing down, insert the Game Boy game into
the Game Boy Player and press it firmly into place (you should
hear it 'click' into place). Do NOT insert any game paks into
the Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Advance SP.
- Insert a Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable into any open
Controller port on the Nintendo GameCube. For more information
on this cable, link
here.
- Plug the opposite end of the cord into the EXT port on the Game
Boy Advance or Game Boy Advance SP.
- With the Start-up Disc in the Nintendo GameCube, press the Power
button to power on the Nintendo GameCube. Turn the Power switch
of the Game Boy Advance system to the "On" position. The TV screen
will display the image of the Game Boy game. The Game Boy Advance
screen will display only the Game Boy Player logo.
Note: You will not be able to access the Game
Boy Player Menu Screen by using the Game Boy Advance or Game Boy
Advance SP as a controller. If you wish to access the Menu Screen,
simply insert a Nintendo GameCube Controller into any available controller
port (you can still keep the Game Boy Advance hooked into the Nintendo
GameCube), and press the Z Button.
