Nintendo 64 Frequently Asked Questions
Are Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal compatible with
the original Pokémon Stadium?
The Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal game paks are not compatible
with the original Pokémon Stadium game. If you put any
of the three games in the Transfer Pak you will get an "invalid
game pak" message.
At the time Pokémon Stadium was created, we had not yet finalized the characters for Gold, Silver and Crystal. Because of this, they could not be programmed into Pokémon Stadium. In addition, you cannot play the Gold, Silver or Crystal version of Pokémon in Pokémon Stadium's GB Tower mode because the Pokémon Stadium game pak is not able to "emulate" the game. At the time the Pokémon Stadium game was created, the final code for Gold, Silver and Crystal did not yet exist, and could not be programmed in the game.
However, please note that Pokémon Stadium 2 has been released. This game is fully compatible with Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal. The game also features the same GB Tower function that allows players to enjoy these games on their TV.
What do I do with my jumper pak once it is removed from my
N64 system?
Once the Expansion Pak is installed, it is normally not necessary
to remove it from the control deck. The N64 Expansion Pak is designed
to work with all Nintendo 64 Game Paks, even those which do not
use the Expansion features. You may want to keep the jumper pak
in case, for some reason, you ever want to remove the Expansion
Pak.
Can I connect my Nintendo to my Cable Box, my DVD, or my VCP
(video cassette player)?
Your Nintendo system requires AV inputs to work. These
products do not provide inputs. Connecting to them is not possible.
