Error Messages - e-Reader Connected to a
Nintendo GameCube
Please Note: The steps below apply to both the
Game Boy Advance, and the Game Boy Advance SP, unless specially
noted.
- Make sure the e-Reader is firmly attached to the Game Boy Advance
system.
- Make sure the e-Reader is properly connected to the Nintendo
GameCube using the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable.
- For the Game Boy Advance, the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy
Advance Cable must be plugged into the top of the e-Reader.
- For the Game Boy Advance SP, the Nintendo GameCube Game
Boy Advance Cable must be plugged directly into the
Game Boy Advance SP, between the L and R Buttons, not into
the e-Reader.
- Check the instructions for the games you are playing to make
sure they are e-Reader compatible and also for any special instructions.
- Inspect the cables, link ports, and the Nintendo GameCube controller
port to see if there is any obvious damage.
- Try a different Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance link cable,
if possible. If you find that you need a new link cable, you can
purchase a new one in our Online
Store.
- The problem may be with the connection port on one of the units.
To test this, try the following:
- Check your Nintendo GameCube Controller Port
Remove the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable from the
Nintendo GameCube and insert a regular Nintendo GameCube controller.
Does the controller work properly?
- Check your Game Boy Advance System Link Port
If you are familiar with playing two player Game Boy games,
remove the e-Reader and try connecting your Game Boy Advance
system to another Game Boy. (If you don't know which cable to
use, use our link
cable selector tool for help.) Are you able to play two
player games normally?
If the Nintendo GameCube Controller works properly and two player
games work fine with your Game Boy Advance system, the problem
is likely the e-Reader.
If the problem you are experiencing is with the e-Reader, Game Boy
Advance system, or Nintendo GameCube, please see our Repair
Options. If you are unable to troubleshoot or determine the cause,
please call 1-800-255-3700 for assistance.
